September 29th

Today we had our Terry Fox Walk! We raised over $2,000! Way to go :)

Science 1206: Today we finished the nitrogen cycle and did review cards on the three cycles.

Math 6: Extra Practice sheets were given out, these can help with review for the in-class assignment on Wednesday October 4th.

Math 7: Booklets for 1.7 and 1.8 are due on Monday. There will be an in-class assignment on Wednesday October 4th.

Math 8: In-class assignment will be Tuesday October 3rd and test on Unit 1 will be Thursday October 5th. Question page 49 #7,9,11,13,16 are for homework.

Science 8/9: Students began a space exploration group assignment. We will continue with this on Monday. Due to missing class today for the Terry Fox Walk our in-class assignment on Chapter 10-11 will be after the Thanksgiving break!

September 28th

Reminder: The Terry Fox Walk is rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

Math 6: We finished the last topic in our first unit today. The TRY question is for homework. We will be having a journal tomorrow and working on some review questions. There will be an in-class unit assignment on Wednesday October 4th.

Math 7: Students worked on section 1.7 and began section 1.8. There will be an in-class unit assignment on Wednesday October 4th.

Biology 3201: We began work on the human eye today.

Environmental Science: Students finished questions 1-7 page 13.

Science 6/7: Today we completed an eat like a bird activity! We had lots of fun!! We will discuss our results next class. Students who were out last day need to finished the adaptation assignment for homework.

Math 8: Students worked on questions from section 1.6 and we began section 1.7. There will be an in-class assignment on Tuesday October 3rd and the test will be Thursday October 5th.

September 27th

Thanks to all my students for making my birthday a great day! From singing happy birthday to homemade cards, I really enjoyed my day :)

Biology 3201: We finished our section on Nervous System disorders and also did a neuron throw-down and neurotransmitter activity. We will be starting the human eye next class.

Environmental Science: Food web questions #1-7 on page 13 were completed. We will continue with these next day.

Math 8: Questions page 43, #3.4.5.6 ab, 8,9,10 are for homework.

Science 1206/2200: Log labs were collected. We began chapter 2.

Math 6: We continued with representing numbers in the decimal place value chart. Questions page 56 #2, 3,4,6 should be completed for homework. There will be an assignment and test next week. I will update later in the week on the exact dates.

Math 7: Students continued with work on section 1.6. Questions page 33-34 #1,2,4,5,6 should be completed for homework.

September 26th

Math 8: Today we worked on questions from section 1.5 and started 1.6. If you did not finish questions page 34-35 #6,8,9,12,13 please finish them for homework. There will be an in-class unit assignment and test next week! We will discuss definite dates later this week.

Science 1206: Students worked on their log lab write-up. These are due tomorrow.

Math 6: Today we started representing numbers as decimals. Students were given a blank decimal place value chart if they would like to use this for practice problems. We will continue with this tomorrow. There will be a unit assignment next week and possibly a test late next week or early the week after. We will discuss definite dates later this week.

Math 7: Students were handed back their in-class assignments from yesterday. We began section 1.6.

Science 6/7: Today students worked on their animal adaptation assignment and worksheet. If this was not handed in today the assignments are due tomorrow and the worksheet is due on Wednesday.

Science 8/9: Today we learned about comets, asteroids and dwarf planets. We watched a couple of videos on sunspots and solar winds to review from last day. We will continue with meteors next class and complete a review on chapter 11. There will be an in-class assignment on chapter 10 and 11 coming up soon.

Math 6/7: In-class assignments were completed today.

Biology 3201: Student finished their Nervous System Disorder posters and do their go around to each group. We will continue with neurotransmitters and the human ear next class.

Environmental Science: Students completed a food chain activity to be placed in their portfolio.

September 21st

Science 6/7: Today we worked on an animal adaptation assignment. Students picked an animal of their choose and researched its adaptations, made a sketch and notes. This will be finished tomorrow and collected.

Math 8: Students completed an in-class assignment. We will begin section 1.5 tomorrow.

Science 1206/2200: Chapter 1 assignment were handed back and reviewed. We reviewed how to do a lab report in preparation for our log lab tomorrow. Please complete your hypothesis if you did not get it finished in class.

Math 6/7: Assignments are moved from tomorrow to MONDAY to allow for some extra practice time. We will continue with review tomorrow. All students have extra practice sheets they can work on.

Science 8/9: Today we began chapter 11 and had a game of leap frog! Reminder that there will be an in-class assignment after we complete chapter 11.

September 20th

Science 1206: Today we finished chapter 1. We will be completing a lab this week. We will review lab report formats in tomorrow's class.

Science 6/7: Today we discussed our findings from our outdoor living things activity. Each group found some interesting living things! We started talking about adaptations organisms have in order to live in certain environments. We will be completing an assignment on this tomorrow. Each student will choose an organism and research their adaptations.

Math 6: Today we completed some story problems on using large numbers. Students are reminded to keep reviewing their multiplication facts and estimation skills in order to help with these types of problems. There will be an in-class assignment on Friday. We will do some review tomorrow. Each student has an extra practice booklet if they are looking for extra examples to try!

Math 7: Students need to complete 1.5 in their booklet and pass in tomorrow. There will be an in-class assignment on Friday (sections 1.1-1.5).

Biology 3201: Quizzes were completed today. We will be completing a group activity on disorders of the nervous system later this week!

Environmental Science 3205: This was the last class to complete the human impacts poster.

Math 8: Today we worked on questions from section 1.4. If these were not finished in class please finish for homework. Page 25 #  7,8,9,10,11,13,14,15,16. We played Leap Frog to review for our in-class assignment on Thursday (1.1-1.4).

Math 7: 1.4 Booklets are due tomorrow. There will be an in-class assignment on Friday.

Math 6: There will be an in-class assignment on Friday. If you need not finish question page 48 # please finish for homework. 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9a,b,10.

Science 8/9: We completed questions on chapter 10. These are to be placed in your portfolio.

Welcome back to another week!

Quote of the week: 

Biology 3201: Today we made our own neurons! Models and worksheets are due Wednesday! Quiz on the brain and the neuron will be on Wednesday!

Environmental Science: Students are concluding the human impact poster. Wednesday will be the last day to finish it up.

Math 8: Today we finished the notes and activities for 1.4. Tomorrow we will complete questions on that section and review for our In-class assignment (sections 1.1-1.4) which will be on Thursday.

Science 1206: Students completed a debate regarding pesticide use and we talked about species at risk. We will finish chapter 1 next day.

Math 6: Students were introduced to representing large numbers as decimals. Questions page 48 #1,2,3 are for homework. There will be an in-class assignment on Friday!

Math 7: Please finish any unfinished 1.3 work for homework. There will be an assignment on 1.1-1.5 on Friday.

Math 6: Today we learned about solving problems with large numbers. We completed a journal at the end of class. There is no homework however be sure to review what we have been learning!

Biology 3201: Today we went over reflex arcs and started the neuron. We will finish this topic next day.

Environmental Science : Students started working on a poster of how humans have impacted the environment. We will continue this next day.

Math 8: We started section 1.3. Please finish #7 page 20 for homework. We will work on the remaining questions tomorrow.

Science 1206/2200: Mini assignments (questions and creating a food chain are due on Thursday!)

September 12th

Science 8/9: Today we learned about 6 different scientists who contributed to space exploration. We did a group activity and discussion. Tomorrow we will finish the constellation activity we started today. Anyone who didn't finish their cubs should complete it for homework!

Math 8: Today we learned about square numbers and square roots. Questions page 15-16 # 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 17 are for homework.

Science 1206: Today we started a mini assignment. Students should finish question page 13 # 1, 2, 3, 4a, 5 for homework. i will give time in class tomorrow to finish the food chain activity.

Science 6/7: Today we completed a sorting activity. We will continue with this topic and how it relates to living things next day!

Science 1206/220: Today we talked about bioindicators and food chains. Next class we will be doing a mini assignment- some questions and creating our own food chain.

Math 6: Today we learned about Billions! If you did not finish the Lesson 1 Extra Practice please finish it for homework.

Math 7: Please finish questions on section 1.1 for homework. Page 8- # 1,3,6,7

Math 8: Today we finished section 1.1 and started 1.2. No homework!

Science 8/9: We started our Space unit. Tomorrow we will continue by learning about some of the people who contributed to the study of space.

Biology 3201: Today we finished the section on the brain and completed a cube activity. Please finish at home if you did not finish in class.

Environmental Science: Questions #1,2 page 7 need to be completed and placed in your folder. Next class we will start our environmental impact poster.
