Only 17 days of classes left! Make sure you are beginning review for your exams:) 

Science 9: Students completed an exit card and then did a group activity on different types of asexual reproduction. The advantages/disadvantages chart is for homework. Use page 161 in your textbook to help you. We will be completing a lab next day.

Health 8/9:Today was the last day to work on relationship collages. Any assignments not completed today are due on Thursday June 1st. 

Science 8: Today we completed chapter 11 on organ systems and also completed chapter 12 on how our body systems are connected. We will be completing a lab and exit card on Thursday June 1st. 


Reminder: Science 8 & 9 students were given a practice exam on Friday. This is a great review for the final exam!! I have solutions posted in class and they will be posted on the blog later this week. Come see me if you have any questions. There will be lunchtime review on Thursday!

Happy Friday!

Science 8: Today we completed our organ system group activity and completed our chapter 10 assignment.

Science 9: Today we completed mitosis. We did a "mitosis movie project". There will be an exit card on Tuesday May 30th.

* Both classes were given a practice final exam for study purposes. I will post the solutions next week and a key will be placed in class. If you have any questions let me know!

May 24th

I hope everyone had a great long weekend despite the weather! Only 15 school days until exams begin!!

Science 9: Students completed their chapter 4 assignment. We will continue with mitosis next class.

Health 8/9: We began our final project. "Relationship Collage". Please refer to your rubric as you complete the project. We will have one more class in the computer lab to complete it.

Science 8: Exit card was completed then we finished chapter 10. In-class assignment will be Friday, May 26th on chapter 10. We completed a group brainstorming activity on organ systems.

May 17th

Science 9: Today we finished chapter 4 and started mitosis in chapter 5. There will be a short in-class assignment on chapter 4 on Wednesday May 24th. Students can use their notes.

Health 8/9: Female/Male Anatomy quiz was completed and we started our last unit on Relationships.

Science 8: Today we learned all about animal and plant cells! There will be an exit card on Wednesday May 24th and a short in-class assignment on chapter 10 on Friday May 26th.

* Friday (May 19th) there is no school- PD Day

Happy Monday! From the stories I heard this morning it seems like everyone had a good St.Pierre Trip! With only a month until final exams we should be starting to get organized and begin our studying! 

Science 8: Today we continued with our last unit. We learned about the 4 characteristics of life and the parts and function of the microscope. Homework assignment: For Wednesday complete the microscope function chart in your notes. Page 392-393 will help you!


Science 9: Today we discussed Genes and Mutations of Genes.

* Health quiz on female and male anatomy is Thursday May 17th.
* Exams are June 14th-16th

Good afternoon, just a few reminders...

Reminders: 
* There is only one unit left in Science 8, Science 9 and Health. Exams are getting close. There will be a final exam in both Science courses and they will cover material from the entire school year. (ALL 4 units).

* Health quiz on male and female anatomy is moved to Wednesday May 17th.

Happy Friday! Today is Jersey Day! Good luck to our ROV team who are competing in St.John's today!



Science 9: Today we started our new and final unit on Reproduction. We learned about DNA and heredity!

Health 8/9: Today was a catch up class to finish any unfinished work and to review our science tests.

Science 8: We started our final unit on Cells, Tissues and Organs.




Reminder: As exam time draws closer it is important to begin reviewing for finals and get your materials organized. If you need extra help come see me at lunch or after school!
