November 9th

We had a lovely Remembrance day Assembly this morning.

Science 6/7: Study guides were handed out for the test next Friday. We continued with micro-organisms and microscopes today.

Math 8: A journal was completed then we played some fraction games.

Science 8/9: Students completed an activity on lab safety. We began our Daily Element activity.

Biology 3201: Chapter 13 test was completed.

Environmental Science: Students completed their species at risk spotlight.

November 8th

Math 6: Unit 2 test was completed. We will begin our new unit on Patterns tomorrow!

Math 7:  Students worked on section 3.2

Biology 3201:  We reviewed for our test. Chapter 13 test is tomorrow. STSE's were handed back. labs are also due tomorrow.

Environmental Science:  Students watched and answered questions on Land and Sea video "Protecting our Caribou".

Science 6/7:  We started our section on mirco-organisms and used a microscope to look at some slides!! Portfolios were handed back. Students will be given a study guide tomorrow for their Unit test on Friday, November 17th.

Math 8: We completed section 3.2. Questions page 113 #6, 7, 10, 11, 12 & 13 should be completed for homework if they were not finished in class.

November 7th

Biology 3201:  Students completed a diabetes lab. This will be due on Thursday. Test is also Thursday on Chapter 13.

Environmental Science: Students began a species at risk spotlight.

Science 8/9:  Today we went over lab safety rules and WHMIS. Had fun playing WHMIS bingo!!

Math 8:  Today we started section 3.2. We will continue with this next day.

Science 1206: Today we learned about the characteristics of each group on the periodic table and did a review activity on Bohr diagrams. Please finish for homework if you did not complete in class.

Science 2200: Students continued work on environmental poster. This will be finished next class.

Math 6: Unit 2 test is tomorrow. Assignments were handed back and reviewed today.

Math 7: 3.1 booklets are due tomorrow. Section 3.2 was introduced today.

November 6th

Math 8: Unit 2 tests were handed back. We started Unit 3 (Modelling Fractions). Questions section 3.1 page 108-109 #6,8,9,10,11,12,14,15,16,17,18 should be completed for homework if not finished in class.

Science 1206: Today we continued with our chemistry unit, we went over Periodic Table Trends.

Science 2200: Continued work on environmental posters.

Math 6: Unit 2 assignment was completed. We will review tomorrow for our test on Wednesday.

Math 7: Booklets for section 3.1 need to be completed for homework.

November 3rd

Science 6/7: Today we did an activity on the Peppered Moth and Natural Selection. Portfolios were collected. there will be a unit test the week after the Remembrance Day Holiday. Date to follow.

Science 8/9: Labs were due today. We began the Chemistry unit. Students were assigned an element to research for our "Daily Element" Class activity.

Math 7: Students completed an online assessment of math skills. We will continue with our fraction unit on Monday.

Math 6: We played a review game to prepare for our assignment on Monday. Unit 2 test will on Wednesday.

Biology 3201: Students started their STSE. These will be due on Tuesday November 7th. Test on Chapter 13 will be Thursday November 9th.

Environmental Science: Quiz Chapter 1-3 was handed back. We began Chapter 4.

November 2nd

Math 6:  Today we learned about order of operations. We are now finished Unit 2. Assignment will be Monday November 6th and the test will be Wednesday November 8th.

Math 7: Students wrote their unit 2 test and we began Unit 3 on Fractions and Decimals.

Biology 3201: Students completed the gland and hormone quiz. We finished up problems with the different glands. Test will be next Thursday, November 9th.

Environmental Science: Students watched "King of Sheeps" Land and Sea video and completed questions for their portfolio.

Math 8: Unit 2 test was completed. We will begin Unit 3 next class.

Science 1206:We finished the WHMIS section. Had some fun playing WHMIS bingo!!

Science 2200: Students continued to work on their environmental posters.

Happy November!

Science 6/7: Students presented their vertebrate group posters. Checklists for portfolios were handed out. I will be collecting them on Friday.

Math 8: In-class assignments were handed back. We did a connect 4 review game. Test is tomorrow.

Science 1206: We began our new unit: Chemistry and started WHMIS

Science 2200:  Poster project on how to help the environment was started today.

Math 6:  We continued with work on integers. There will be a unit assignment coming up soon.

Math 7:  Reminder that the Unit 2 Test is tomorrow.

Science 8/9:  We completed our solar system lab!
