March 20th

I hope everyone enjoys their snow day! Just a few reminders...

* The Science 9 in-class assignment scheduled for Friday March 24th will now be next Tuesday March 28th.

* Parent Teacher Interviews are Thursday March 23rd.

* Friday March 24th is Purple Day!

March 16th

Science 8: Chapter 4 in-class assignments were handed back and reviewed. Then we started Chapter 5 discussing transparent, transleucent and opaque. Next day we will be starting to learn about plane mirrors and how to draw a ray diagram. Don't forget to bring a ruler and colored markers!

Science 9: Today we learned about Ohm's law and completed some practice. Next day students will be working on some questions that will be placed in their portfolio. We will soon be finishing chapter 8. The tentative date for the in-class assignment on Chapter 7 and 8 is next Friday, March 24th. Students will have an hour to complete the assignment, books and notes can be used.

March 6th

Good evening! I hope everyone enjoyed their snow morning. A few reminders for the week!

* Due to the snow morning Science 9 labs ( Static electricity) that were due today will be collected tomorrow.

* Science 8, chapter 4 in-class assignment will now be next Tuesday, March 14th.

* March 7th- Marble Kick off Dance after school.

* March 8-9th is the Marble Ski Trip. Hope you all enjoy skiiing!

* March 10th- No school due to teacher PD day.

March 2nd

Science 9: Today we began discussing Chapter 8. We learned about current electricity and the parts of an electric circuit. Static Electricity labs are due on Monday March 6th.

Health 8/9: We went over our unit 2 quiz then we completed a science review baggie activity. These will be part of our portfolios. Each chapter should have at least 5 sheets of main points we learned. This can be used as a study guide to help with assignment and test review.

Science 8: Today we finished our "cube activity" on electromagnetic radiation by having a group discussion. Then we completed a quiz-quiz trade activity in preparation for our Chapter 4 In-class assignment on Monday March 6th. This will be completed on the Socrative app. on the I-pads. Notes and textbooks can be used.

February 28th

Can't believe it's the last day of February already! Time is flying!

Science 8: Today we did a 'cube activity' on the different types of electromagnetic radiation. This will be part of our portfolios.























Science 9: Today we completed a Static Electricity lab!

February 24th

Happy Friday! The countdown is on for our Marble Trip next week!

Science 9: Students worked on Chapter 7 review questions. They are to be placed in your portfolios. Page 246- # 2,3,5,8,10,11,14 and 17. Exit cards were completed today.

Health 8/9: Unit 2 quiz was completed. We will be starting the Human Sexuality unit next week.

Science 8: Today we learned about light as a wave model. Fluids test was given back and reviewed. Exit card was completed.

February 22nd

Science 9: Today we went over insulators and conductors and also used an electroscope! Chemistry tests were handed back and reviewed. If you have any questions about your test come back and see me. There will be an exit card on Chapter 7 on Friday, February 24th.




Science 8: We continued with the Optics Unit. Today we learned about ROYGBIV and why we can see a rainbow! There will be an exit card on Friday, February 24th.
