December 12th

Science 8: Today we completed a viscosity lab! We learned that molasses flows a lot slower than cooking oil and water! Most groups started their table calculations but we will continue with this next class. Lab will be due Friday December 16th.






Science 9: Today we talked about the different periods and families on the periodic table and completed a partner chart activity. Wednesday we will have review for our in-class assignment which will be on Friday, December 16th. Our review will include element BINGO and a Christmas Game! Be sure to review- there will be a prize!!!

December 8th

Science 9: Today we completed our "What stuck with you activity" then we did some examples of atomic number, mass, # of electrons, protons and neutrons. We completed an atom puzzle activity in groups. This was added to our portfolio.  Remember to review your 20 common elements for BINGO next week! Don't forget your in-class assignment is on Friday December 16th. 

Health 8/9: Today we continued watching Inside Out (with popcorn!!!) ! There will be an assignment on the movie after we finish watching.

Science 8: We completed the "what stuck with you activity" then we reviewed viscosity and completed a group question discussion and shared our answers with the class.

December 6th

Science 8: Today we finished Chapter 7. We talked about viscosity and finished the lesson with a group review chart of solids, liquids and gases. We will have a 'What stuck with you activity' on Thursday.

Science 9: Today we continued with Chapter 2 and talked about the properties of metals, non-metals and metalloids. We will have a 'What stuck with you activity' on Thursday and our in-class assignment will be Friday, December 16th.

* I am still waiting on some Health Inside Outside Bag Activities. Please pass them in by Thursday if you haven't already done so.

December 2nd

Science 9: Today we started chapter 2 talking about common elements and the periodic table. Be sure to learn the 20 common elements and their symbols for element BINGO next week!

Health 8/9: We each made a Christmas ornament for our class tree and started watching the movie Inside-Out. We will have a project on the movie after we finish.

Science 8: Door decorating Contest!!! The doors are looking great so far! Great job!

November 30th

Science 8: Today we continued with our chapter on fluids. Students completed a fluid flowing lab. Questions #1 and 2 on page 271 are due on Tuesday, December 6th and will be a part of your Fluid portfolio.

Science 9: Today we completed Chapter 1 review questions. We will be starting chapter 2 on Friday.

November 28th

Science 9: Today we finished our Chapter 1 notes. "Dancing Raisins" lab was given back and students completed a what stuck with you activity. We will be working on Chapter 1 review questions next class. If you did not hand in your safety poster they are due on Wednesday.

Health 8/9: We worked on our Inside-Outside bag activity. These are due Friday, December 2nd.

Science 8: Unit 1 tests were handed back and reviewed. We started our next unit, Ch. 7 on Fluids. 

Congrats to the girls volleyball team on winning Bronze this weekend!!

November 24th

Science 8: Students completed Unit 1 test. We will start our new unit on Fluids on Monday!

Science 9: Today we finished our Atomic Theory Jigsaw activity. Then students started making lab safety posters. These posters are due on Monday and will go in your science portfolio. Students will have a "what stuck with you" on Monday's class about Chapter 1.
